The rear flower garden of Daejojeon and Gyeonghungak used as summer house

 I want to be your untact world tour guide. I`ll show you all the corners of the historic and unique sights around. At firrst, I`ll let you go to Changdeokgung palace, the world Unesco heritage in seoul. You can see many beautiful Korean traditional buildings in the palace. So, You don`t have to miss here, when you visit Seoul. Please, follow me!

 

 We will look around daejojeon hall today. Daejojeon was King’s and Queen’s bed chamber in Changdeokgung palace. I’m sure you like the orientic and mysterious landscapes. Also, it has ondol, the Korean traditional heating system to warm in winter.

 

You can see the Yeochunmun gate over the stone stairs walking to the east from seonpyeongmun gate. You can get into the backyard of daejojeon and royal kitchin. The most famous flower garden of queen`s bed chamber is the one of Gyeongbokgung palace called Amisan, but the one of Changdeokgung is also beautiful. Gyeonghungak hall connected with daejojeon was used as a summer house for king and queen. In front of Gyeonghungak hall, there is a royal kitchin which is connected to Yohuimun gate. 

 

At the east of Seonpyeongmun , there is yeochunmun gate to the backyard of Daejojeon.

Heungbokheon hall, a cross-shaped building on the east side of Daejojeon, appears.

Passing Heungbokheon, the “ㄱ”-shaped upper floor called Cheonghyanggak appears.

Cheonghyanggak with a beautiful chimney was used as queen`s stockroom.

Here is a terraced flower garden, but there were no flowers and leaves in winter now.

In the middle of the terraced flower garden, there`s a small gate to the rear garden.

Right behind Daejojeon hall are large pine trees and bushes with the beautiful stones.

The terraced flower garden with chimney extends to the back of Gyeonghungak hall.

On the west side of Gyeonghungak, there were two firing places to heat under the hall.

Gyeonghungak hall was used as a villa for king and queen to take a rest.
